IN OUR KITCHEN , TO SUPPORT THE LARGE, HEAVY GRANITE EATING BAR THEY CREATED SUPPORTS THAT MATCHED THE EXISTING WOODEN ONES SO PERFECTLY, THAT YOU CAN NOT TELL THE OLD FROM THE NEW. THE ADJACENT GREAT ROOM OFF OF THE KITCHEN IS OUR FAMILIES FAVORITE ROOM WITH ITS WARM AND INVITING ATMOSPHERE CREATED WITH THE FRENCH DOORS AND WALL OF WINDOWS. IN OUR DINING ROOM WE WANTED AGAIN TO SPOTLIGHT THE WOOD , LIGHTING, AND ART WORK. THEY INCASED THE WINDOWS IN WOOD MAKING THEM APPEAR LARGER AND CRAFTED WAINSCOTING PANELS THAT MADE THE ROOM BEAUTIFUL, ELEGANT AND INVITING . IN EVERY ROOM THEY CRAFTED GORGEOUS BASEBOARDS AND UNIQUE CROWN MOLDING. WE HAVE ROUNDED CORNERS IN ALL OF OUR ROOMS AND RUSSELL AND LAYNE MADE THE WOOD A CONTINUOUS FLOW THROUGHOUT OUR HOME. WE HAVE RECOMMENDED LISTON BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION TO OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY. I have been using Layne and Russell Liston to do projects in my home for the past 15 years. My experience has been so positive and I trust them so much, that I no longer look elsewhere. I feel they are excellent for multiple reasons.
1) Bids and Timeliness-Whenever I get a bid on a project from the Listons, they are fair and honest. Their work usually comes in right on target as far as their price quotes. They are not the cheapest and not the most expensive. They are fair. In contrast to contractors I have used in the past, when Listons say they are coming over, they are there and they are on time. They complete projects in a timely manner.
2) Vision and Workmanship-The Listons are artisans. I love it when they come over and I propose a project to them. They get excited and offer ideas and suggestions to improve upon it. The completed project is always exactly what I was looking for or better. They take pride in their workmanship and quality. They are not satisfied until the customer is satisfied.
3) Friendliness and Trustworthiness-The Listons are very personable. I am almost sad when a project is completed because I enjoy having them come to my house day after day. They are also completely trustworthy. I have no qualms whatsoever about leaving when they are working in our home. Additionally, they have worked on family properties outside of town (St. George and Midway) where we have just given them the keys. They are also great about consulting with us when additional costs may be incurred or there are decisions to be made.
We have used the Liston Brothers on the following projects in our home: Backyard Shed, Deck, Concrete Patios, Built-in Bookshelves, Television Cabinet, Home Office Desk, Electrical work (adding lighting to rooms). Finishing the following rooms in our Basement: Cold Storage Room, Warm Storage Room, Toy Room, Sewing Room, Bedroom, Theater Room. They are knowledgeable in carpentry, electrical, concrete, drywall, painting, finish work, etc. I have referred them to friends and family repeatedly for whom they have done both commercial and residential projects. We hired the Liston Brothers to remodel our formal living and dining rooms. We had very specific ideas on our moldings, fireplace mantle, coffered ceiling, wainscoting, and even paint color based on styles from the East Coast. Because it was different from most of the work they have done in Utah, they took the time to research, study, draw sketches and even do preliminary mock-ups to make sure we had what we wanted before they began work. They listened to our ideas and made suggestions for design improvement or budget issues. They were patient as we changed our minds and made adjustments throughout the project. We were thrilled with the quality of the work. They are precise and particular. Every detail is its finest. They do not cut corners and are unable to do sloppy work. Since then, we have had them work in other small areas of our home and have found their work to be excellent regardless of the scope of the project. They always give appropriate estimates and charge only for the quality of their work. They are mindful of budgets set and do their best to offer options to fit within that budget. Perhaps the most unusual thing about the Liston Brothers is that they are timely and reliable. When they say they will be to your home on a certain day and time to begin work, that is when they show up. You have their full attention until the job is completed.
